Lane Regional Medical Center is a thriving primary care not-for-profit hospital located in Zachary, Louisiana which is licensed for 137 beds, including a 30 bed, inpatient rehabilitation center, and a 14 bed ICU/Intermediate Care Unit. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation for Health Care Organizations and the State of Louisiana. The hospital operates a 39-bed nursing home and a 12-bed skilled nursing unit. Our Home Health agency provides health services in the comfort of the home for expert care without hospitalization.

Lane Regional Medical Center enhances the wellness of the community through its community education programs which serve to heighten the community's awareness of preventative measures that can be taken to avoid or minimize illness and diseases.

With the growing needs of our community, we continue to expand services to meet the demand. We currently offer the following service areas and are actively recruiting physicians in these and additional areas as we grow.

Cardiology
Lane's Cardiology Program offers a comprehensive heart and vascular program specializing in clinical/diagnostic cardiology, with a complete cath lab and a full range of evaluations and treatments, including pacemaker/ICD and stent placements, cardiac and peripheral vascular services, EKG, treadmill stress testing, nuclear medicine studies, nutrition counseling and cardiovascular rehabilitation.

Our partnership with Cardiovascular Institute of the South ensures that our patients will benefi t from world-class physicians and state-of-the-art technology, resulting in the best means of diagnosis and treatment for all our patients.

Day Surgery/Special Procedures/Hyperbarics
Lane provides a broad range of modern outpatient surgeries to meet the needs of all of our patients. Our staff of nurses and physicians are extremely knowledgeable and compassionate and take great pride in providing excellent nursing care. Day Surgery is for patients needing minor surgical or diagnostic procedures, such as carpal tunnel release, hernia repair, tubes put in the ears, arthroscopic knee surgery, or removal of the gallbladder, to name a few. Our Special Procedures department schedules non-surgical examinations such as colonoscopies, esophagastroduodenoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, proctoscopies, and bronchoscopies. Minor surgeries are also done in Special Procedures, including vasectomies, breast biopsies and incision and drainage of wounds. Lane is also proud to offer Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy which provides 100% pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber. This "hyperbaric", or high pressure, dose of oxygen offers distinct benefits used to treat a variety of wounds, damaged tissue and veins, as well as the elimination of toxic substances and gas-bubble obstructions.

Educational Programs
We have educational programs and screenings throughout the year to round out our offerings to the community.

Most notably is the ongoing Diabetes Management Program at Lane, which combines group education with one-on-one attention.

Scale Down is Lane's program for weight management, offering rapid weight loss under medical supervision with no extensive food preparation, grocery shopping or complicated food lists to memorize. Patients can join in group discussions or use the program at home, with free shipping right to their door.

Moving Forward is a free, comprehensive stroke education program presented by the staff of our Rehabilitation Center in conjunction with the American Stroke Association.

OB-GYN
Lane's Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum rooms are designed to allow families the experience of traditional childbirth in a comfortable, caring environment. Each room, while warm and cozy, houses an array of high level technology including fetal and ultrasound monitoring equipment that closely monitors your baby's health during your entire stay. Our highly trained nursing staff is experienced in lactation, labor support and intensive care. This ensures individual attention and one-on-one instruction on topics such as breast feeding, nutrition and newborn care. Our labor and delivery unit also has an operating room specifically designed for Cesarean sections. We believe that the sooner a baby is placed in the mother's arms, the sooner the parental bonding begins. That's why we encourage mothers to have their babies "room-in".  And just like other area hospitals for women, Lane has a neonatologist on call 24 hours-a-day to help babies who may need any special care.

Rehabilitation Services
The Rehab Services Department is comprised of licensed therapists and technicians that provide both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, respiratory therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and cardiopulmonary services. Our physical therapists specialize in recuperation treatments for a full range of orthopaedic disorders, such as hip and knee replacements, various sports-related injuries, and stroke and neurological disorders. Occupational therapists help to reestablish daily functional independence for people recovering from stroke and neurological disorders, brain injury, heart attack, amputation, spinal cord injury or broken bones. Speech therapy is applicable to a wide variety of diagnoses, including aphasia, stuttering, voice disorders, and difficulty speaking or swallowing, which is especially helpful for patients diagnosed with stroke, MS, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other degenerative diseases. The Lane Rehabilitation Center is a 30-bed, comprehensive inpatient unit designed specifically to aid those patients with disabling conditions from medical trauma or illnesses requiring more intensive rehabilitation.
